The worst experience I have ever had with any company. I arrived and then happily signed me up for a lease... I should have noticed something was off when we took the stairs to the 4th floor... turns out the elevator was broken and they let me know once the paperwork was complete.... of course.... that is false advertising... i got to move all my furniture up 4 flights of stairs. Then I show up on a Saturday to move a bunch more things in in the middle of the day. I forgot the elevator code, so needed to go to the office. There was a note on the door saying they would be back in 30 minutes, I waited 1 hour and 15 minutes, which cost me $90 in moving fees because I had to pay them to just stand and wait and a uhaul fee for late return. Then I tried to call Lucia the district manager to see if they could at least give a credit, 3 phone calls and an email later - I heard nothing - that was 4 months ago... then I showed up to move out of the unit into another public storage because I couldn’t stand the Wilshire location for obvious reasons, and the exact same thing happened on a Saturday - I was locked out of my unit and this time, I waited 20 minutes and left. I was not going to waste another $100 waiting with movers for the second time, and be late returning my uhaul for the second time with fees. Of course, it was too late to find movers for Sunday and so I got my things Monday morning the 1st. Well, guess what.... they charged me $200 for the entire month because I wasn’t there before the day end of the month. Even though I’m renting a unit at another location already, even though I was there on Saturday with no one there in the middle of the day and had already wasted $130 the last time, even though they let me sign a lease and failed to mention the elevator was broken when it’s advertised the location has an elevator. Another customer was so angry that day he was literally throwing his things down the stairs and couldn’t believe they wouldn’t provide any compensation or credit for the HUGE inconvenience. So, I called the manager above Lucia when I let public storage know that she never returned my calls or email.... well, guess who called within hours... Lucia. She then let me know that there was absolutely nothing she could do. Not a single penny she could credit me. Nothing. *** update! They made it right! I am so appreciative. Thank you for doing the right thing.
